This is a difficult letter to write, and I do so with a heavy heart. After more than 39 years of OB-GYN practice, I have decided it is time to retire. It has been a pleasure taking care of you for all of these years, and I will miss seeing you in my office.
I had hoped to keep my practice open at least until next year. However, in August 2020, I was diagnosed with malignant pleural mesothelioma. I’ve been on a variety of chemotherapy and immunotherapy treatments for more than a year. Hence, my decision to retire now.
I’m planning on having my last day of seeing patients on December 31, 2021. We will still be in the office for a month or two after that answering phone calls, filling prescriptions, and tying up years of odds and ends.
There are several excellent physicians in the Fresno area who can continue your OB-GYN care. They include physicians at St. Agnes Care Obstetrics and Gynecology; Fresno Women’s Care; Central Valley Women’s Health Associates; and Daniel Hernandez. Your primary care physician may handle some of your gynecologic care, renew your medications, and make referrals.
Your medical records are available by written request after signing an informed release of records form. You may download the form from the website under the patient information tab, or call the office and ask to have the form mailed to you.
My website, robertowilsonmd.com, will be updated from time to time to let you know what’s happening. It is a read-only website. Calls can be made to the office, and the exchange will take a message.
Wishing you health and happiness,
Robert O. Wilson MD
I just laughed when you mentioned the TB! I could never remember either. Also, I just got a reminder of my next appointment with Dr. Wilson which was obviously made a while ago. We never made it to that last appointment and it made me sad. : (
I so miss you Doc Wilson! You were with me through child bearing years and onto the beginning of menopause, when in October 2021 I came to you and told you that I finally got that smoking hot body I always wanted, LITERALLY. Now having to find another doctor, the bar is set high and to standards that I believe no one can reach. You cared for all of us and made sure we talked about all areas of life. No, I still do not remember the last tetanus shot, and no one has hit or punched me, I am still carrying extra pounds and I will focus on losing some. The new doc didn't ask me about my li…

Dr. Wilson...not a day goes by that I don't think of you. I looked forward to my appointments with you as you were so easy to talk to about anything and everything. You delivered my two greatest gifts in life. You are tremendously missed. I pray to our Lord that you are resting in peace and that you know just how much you meant to so many of us and that you had a huge impact in so many lives. You were simply amazing, and I am so very thankful I had the opportunity to meet you. My deepest condolences to your family.
Dr. Wilson you will be missed dearly. I was always so at ease in your presence and you delivered my three children with the love and attention only a great physician could give. I am so happy to have been in your care for so many years and I referred many women to you over the years. It is with a heavy heart that I bid you farewell. You were dear to my heart!
